Gluten Free Teriyaki Chicken

There is something fun about eating party chicken wings.  This easy gluten-free teriyaki chicken recipe will take it to a whole other level!

There were only 3 kiddos and my hubby home when I decided to test out this recipe on my family.  I made 3 pounds of chicken.  THREE POUNDS.

I got one piece.  My hubby got one piece.  My 5-year-old got one piece.  And the rest were devoured by my 2 teenage sons.  EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.

3 pounds of chicken these boys ate.  That is when you know you have a recipe that is going to be an absolute hit!

Does Teriyaki Sauce Contain Gluten?

Many well known teriyaki sauces do in fact contain gluten (simply by using soy sauce as an ingredient).

This is why we make our own very simple gluten-free teriyaki sauce from scratch for this yummy gluten-free teriyaki chicken recipe!

I chose to use Ocean Halo’s “No Soy” sauce as the base.  You can also use coconut aminos if you want a slightly sweeter flavor.

What Are Some Tasty Gluten Free Dipping Sauces for Teriyaki Party Chicken Wings?

I made two very unique and fun dipping sauces.  You may not believe the common ingredient.  Are you ready for it?  MAYO!  Stick with me here, because you will LOVE these sauces!

The Honey Ginger Sauce is surprisingly sweet and satisfying.  This was a gamble to make mayo the base of a sweet honey sauce.  But it panned out and was stunning!

The Spicy Wing Sauce is a classic, creamy hot sauce.  You can make it hotter or less hot depending on how much hot sauce you choose to use!

Honey Ginger Sauce

1/2 cup real mayonnaise

1/3 cup honey

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Mix all ingredients together well and serve!

Spicy Wing Sauce

1/2 cup real mayonnaise

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce (or sriracha or other hot sauce)

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

a little squeeze of fresh lemon juice

Mix all ingredients together well and serve!

Other fun dressings to add to the mix is this low carb ranch dressing and this low carb avocado ranch dressing!

How To Make Gluten Free Teriyaki Chicken

In a ziplock bag or large glass container (because, well, you want to save the dolphins as my bestie Angela would say) combine “no soy” sauce, ground ginger and sherry. Mix well.

Add all your party chicken wings and mix around until all the wings are covered.

Let marinate for a few hours in the fridge.

Heat up the grill and throw these beauties on it. Grilling time depends on your grill. We use a smoker and it takes about 30 minutes total.

If you don’t want to grill, you can bake these as well. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and bake for 45 minutes or until fully cooked.

Top with optional sesame seeds and green onions.

Serve as is or with your favorite dipping sauce shown above!
